Looking for new waders. Dont want to spend $300 plus for drake. Any experience with some mid priced waders? Looking at the cabelas line, any experience?

I've had the Cabelas Supermags for three years now and love them! During the season, I hunt 2-3 days a week, and they have yet to let me down in any way. Super tough and if you get the 1600's you'll never even feel anything but warmness! I've also never heard anything bad about their warranty either.

I bought the BassPro brand, Redhead neoprene and they have been great. I think I got them on sale for $99. I have been very impressed for the price and those suckers are warm!

I bought some of the cheapest neoprene waders I could find on a sale a few years ago at Academy- maybe $70 and I've never had a problem. But that being said, my next pair will be breathable instead of neoprene, like these overpriced bad boys http://www.orvis.com/p/waterfowler-sonicseam-wader/3c20

budget and waders should never be said in the same sentence. You get what you pay for. Do you want an enjoyable hunt or do you want to be miserable? If you are wading into public, spend the money. If you are hunting ponds, get a dog and forget about waders!

I got the Lacrosse Drop Top breathable waders last summer when they were on sale. Normally $260 and got them for $125. I called them the other day and was told they would have a special on them again this summer although I wasn't told a specific time frame. Best pair of breathables I have ever worn and I have tried them all. Well worth keeping an eye on their website. In the next coming months.

I like the cabelas, stay away from game winner though unless you are ok with saving some money for leaky seams.

I've only had Cabelas super mags 1200 and 1600. I got a pair of their breathables last year for teal and early season. If you take care of them they will last many seasons.

I would double check with Cabelas on the their warranty before you buy them, I've heard of people having issues returning them and that they are doing away with the life time warranty.
I got a pair of Frogg Toggs last year and like them a lot. They are priced really well for the quality and go on sale often.

Glad they worked out, guess me any several others I know should've bought them 6 years ago when they were better quality.

I bought the Cabelas also simply because of the warranty. Ive had them for four seasons and theyre still holding up pretty well. Had a buddy who had a leak in his and he took them back and got them replaced with no problem.

I actually had a pair from Academy about 6 or so years ago that lasted about 4 years. The next 2 pairs didn't even last a month before leaking. They must have changed suppliers or materials.

Cabelas used to have a life time warranty on their waders, you didn't even need a receipt if it was their brand. That made buying their brand a no brainer. Now it is one year, after a year you can still return them, they will give you some money for them like a trade in. It was a great deal before, it's an ok deal now. I do like their waders though.

I have a tough as hell set of Redhead waders from Bass Pro. Had them many a year. I clean them and hang them in my closet.
