What is your favorite way to find a guide or a hunt...? Word of mouth in person/THF, googling for 'em, etc? I have literally never used a guide to hunt before or anything like that. Now that season has wound down for me, I'm starting to think ahead to next fall... To keep it interesting... I may or may not have buried my Tacoma that day.

I've had a lot of luck here on The THF & TX Predator Posse. PM me if you have any specific question(s) on outfitters/guides I've used.

I use this forum the most for hunts in Texas. Outfitters that post here frequently have been well vetted by members. I have booked 6 hunts right off this forum and have not been let down yet!

When I'm wanting to go someplace new, I really prefer to meet and talk to as many outfitters as I can. The best place that I know for doing this is the Dallas Safari Club Convention every year in January. I've also gone to the SCI Convention in Reno and Vegas several times. Then after talking to them, I narrow it down to a couple I like and I start looking for more information on them. I think Forums just like this one are great for that.
I also think that this site has some great referrals on hunts here in Texas that I've been keeping an eye on and talked to a few guys from here who have hunted with some of those outfitters. They post pics of what they got, the ranch and some of the animals they saw. They write a review of the hunt and others chime in with comments from their experiences there. If it all sounds good, then I'm going to save that outfitters website to my list and refer to it when I'm ready to book a hunt.

+1. Dallas Safari Club is a close second.

Word of mouth from previous clients is pretty convincing. Then same as others suggested above..

since I LIVE IN p
A. I GOOGLE.
I google. I read the outfitters info, make calls, talk to references. I then go back and read their info again. I am very Leary when it comes to outfitters. I try to find errors or hidden info in their info.
