Anyone use them? Any recommendations? Would rather stay under $100 for the set but will spend more if necessary. Thanks in advance.

I would just buy a cat tail.

Depending on how far back your scope is mounted you may be ablel to cowitness with them. I typically run my stock all the way in or pulled back to the first notch, which would allow the scope to be a mounted little bit farther forward, and allow the use of flip up sights. Of course you would have to run the scope on 1.25 power. I've never been a fan of side mounted oprics or iron sights.

Thanks BigPig. I will try that option first. Really didn't think that I would be able to cowitness through a 1.25 magnification. I would rather have the sights on top if that can be achieved.

For $100, you could pick up a 45 degree offset rail and mount an inexpensive red dot on it. that would give you the quick transition you're looking for, and be a lot easier to shoot with than iron sights.

I'm not sure what kind of off set sights we are talking about or for what kind of rifle (Winchester 30-30, or an AR, etc?) If it's for an AR, the 45 degree mounts with the red dot sights are awesome. They are very easy to use and set up.

What one would you recommend Chad?

Or you could always get a 45 degree mount like Chad suggested and run a reflex sight off the rail. Daniel Defense makes one, then there are a lot of the cheap Chinese ones as well.

I have been wanting a T-1 to run offset or off the primary optic on the AR-10, Primary Arms may be a nice stop gap.

PA also just came out with a micro dot that has digital on and off and up to 50k+ hours always on like the T1 of course I wouldn't compare the two in quality, but PA has the best bang for the buck for budget optics. also you can buy PA from joeboboutfitters now and save taxes if that matters to you. I just got one of the micro dots with the 50k+ hours battery life to replace a 1-4x I took off and put on my LR308 for hunting. Haven't got to sight it in yet, but I like it. Even night vision compatible if you need that.

I had them on an AR15 for about 1 month. First time I took that gun hunting, they were gone. To much stuff hanging on the gun, to much stuff hanging up on trees.
If I can find my old set I will give them to you...

Why does the OP want off set sights? If I was in a combat situation then yes, I could see another back set, prob irons, but wouldn't run them on the side. If I were to run a secondary optic such as a red dot, then it would be mounted on the top of the scope. I think having any sight hanging off the side of the weapon is rediculous, makes it easy to bump off zero.

Yea I've seen guys use them for competition when time is a factor when switching between sights and main optic.

Yea I've seen guys use them for competition when time is a factor when switching between sights and main optic. But you will notice that their red dot costs considerably more than the OP was wanting to spend. A throw lever on that scope will create a very fast transition from low power to high power or vice versa. You can get a universal one for about $15. I always leave my scope on 1x while moving around; if I am shooting something at distance, chances are that I will be able to take an extra half second to go to high power.

I always leave my scope on 1x while moving around; if I am shooting something at distance, chances are that I will be able to take an extra half second to go to high power. I understand that, but most people in competition or combat want the best and thats why they spend mucho money on optics including their red dots and back up sights. If you're not in competition or combat you really don't need the reliability of the Aimpoint. The new PA will do everything the T1 will do for about 1/3 of the price. It is just no where as durable as the T1, however I watched a bunch of torture test of the new PA micro and they put it through some crazy stuff and it returned to zero every time. I agree with you, I have a throw lever on my 1-4x and keep it on the 1x position unless I need the extra magnification then I just pop it over real quick. Nothing I'm doing with my rifle has the urgency I can't wait a half second.

Thank all of you for the replies. I really wasn't sure what I needed or wanted other than I would like to have a second option on my rifle if I were to need to remove the scope for some odd reason. I think i will just sight my rifle in with some flip up iron sights (not offset) and then mount the scope and forget about it.
