248 is the current build on the website.
If in fact you are trying 246 from the unofficial test sources then here is what I noted.
For some reason 246 after a successful upgrade, will lock the xsight.bin file.
I had to reformat my SD card a time or two to get it clear for older firmwares to get out of reboot jail.
Always check that filename as well, if there is a lock symbol or if it is anything other than xsight.bin you'll experience a problem.

Need some help before I send it back for repairs.
I updated to the 246, I got it through the update, removed the card and started checking my settings. I turned on the WIFI, hit the left arrow to go back in the menu and the screen locked up. Buttons were not responsive so I took the battery cap off, put it back on and the endless loop started.
It will turn itself on, stay on for about 20 seconds and reboot.
I have read through the thread and tried to reload an earlier firmware but the card is not being read at all by the scope. If I hold the power button it will turn off eventually but when turned back on it does the same cycle.
I contacted ATN today and they suggested new batteries although mine were new and lithiums. I tried more new batteries tonight and have the same results.
I plugged in a usb cable and it gives me a screen with a power supply or mass storage connection but the buttons are not responsive. Any suggestions to stop the loop of reboots?
I had the same problem with my 3-12X, wifi was not working either in .246 or .248, when enabeling wifi scope got into a bootloop, same as you described. Revert to one older version, .220 or .228 and then put the .248 back, this time dont turn wifi on, then you can at least use your scope, i have reported this issue to Sachal at ATN. Wierd thing is, i have upgraded 2 more scopes from the same batch, white serial below the ir-rail, my old one have a serial inside the range of other 2 ones, both scopes working fine with wifi in .248, mass-storage option doesn't work on the new ones, i have reverted one of the new ones back to .246 and both wifi and mass-storage works just fine. Firmwares, no betas, just official versions, can be found here: https://app.box.com/s/kabfjqdhem34k03c30st/MKL

Thanks for the responses.
The steps I used to solve the issue are as follows:
Formatted the SD card again. Downloaded 228 again and renamed it xsight. Insert card and install batteries. power on, remove battery cap when it stops updating. install battery cap to complete install Remove battery cap when it stops on "configuring WIFI" install battery cap to complete install again. Install successful
formatted SD card again downloaded 248 again and renamed it xsight and went through the same steps above.
It should not be this hard to update.

Has ATN addressed the status of their advertised gyroscope/image stabilization feature on the 5x ? Yes they have. Indirectly. They have stated what features they have worked on in this new firmware. The features you mention are not on the list, therefore, not worked on yet. To address using image stabilization on a scope - this was asked before release. Sachal stated that image stabilization could be turned OFF for shooting, and ON for observing. Seems to make sense to me. As for reboot-jail, I haven't gotten to upgrade to the new firmware yet, I have too many other life commitments taking up my time. Once I can do so and try it out, I'll report what I find.

So after shooting alot more rounds and finally getting out a few times at night i think i should have gone with the 3x, in the north east we just dont have the wide open shots you guys get. last year my longest deer kill was at 280yards and with such a narrow FOV on the 5x it makes hunting in the woods near impossible. The only thing that sucks is bought this from sportsmanguide because i had 200 gift card and they dont carry the 3x. if anyones interested in a trade for a 3x let me know .

Version 253 is now available
Seems a minor glitch was noticed by Scott Country and they have fixed it

Just downloaded it on my 5x and this was the first time I did not have to do a hard reboot it did it all on its own. But my question is Zoom Position , Center or Reticle? I don't see any difference.

You will see a difference if your mount is off optical center relative to your bore centerline.
So the more crooked your mount the more you will opt for Reticle as the choice.

Just got back from Texas. The x sight performed very well with 248. Shot 7 hogs. The biggest problem was remembering to start recording before I took the shot.
I definitley need to get the power pack thing figured out as I missed a video because the battery light started flashing. As soon as that happens you can't record.
The auto dimming was a little annoying. Anyone know if ATN is going to work on that?

I'm on .248
Just came back from the range and my X-sight 5-18 is zeroed as I want it. Consistent shooting that I attribute to cleaning and adding loctite to the scope mounts. I fired about 20 shots and it stayed true.
I tested at 25x and 50x at 100 yards and POI was within an inch of my 5x was. Felt like I could touch the target with my hands.
I'll be hunting hogs tonight and tomorrow night.
I'm hard pressed to update to .253 cause .248 seems to be working.

Thanks for the tip! The only thing bugging me is the green light that comes on when the scope is being powered. Did you do anything to combat that? I'm thinking about picking up a micro usb slot plug and taping around the area that the light is visible.
