I have a AR-15/22 I have been working on. Bought a wasp 22 upper @ gun show. Built a Lower that I had in the safe for a year / DPMS kit. rebuilt the bolt on the wasp upper & converted the Lower to use M&P 22 Mags(S&W). Was going to be productive today and finish the AR-22 by installing optics.
It seems the last time I worked on the rifle I had collapsed the stock down to it's shortest setting and just leaned it in the safe without the flash suppressor in a barrel notch in the safe. Then I closed the door and since it sticks 3 inches or more inside the safe it pushed the butt of the rifle over. When the door opened it fell straight down(just like Paul Bunyan chopped the bottom out from under it)
I was standing on a Hardwood floor in my socks & that AR Flash suppressor landed perfect on my little toe. There were things thrown & bad words said , it was like hitting your little toe with a hammer. now about 2 hours later it is a nice shade of PURPLE all the way around top & bottom. Not sure that it is not broken.
Repeat: When you put guns in a safe make sure it is secure & cannot shift and land on your toes and make you say Bad Words

Ouch... Thanks for heads up on that! Hope it's not broke!

I did the same thing back in the fall only with a row of about 29 Walmart shopping carts that were in the way....backed the whole lot at good velocity over my right pinkie toe....it's been months and still isn't "right".
I feel for ya....at least you have some projects to work on.
Pass the gravy.

I had this happen with my gun safe. Browning puts some gun shelves on the door, and if you aren't careful, those shelves with shift the buttstocks of rifles in the main part of the safe and cause them to fall over. Luckily, it was a synthetic SS rifle that fell over, and not one of my nice blued rifles with walnut stocks.

not that it would have helped, but I'm so anal, I keep all my guns in gun-socks inside the safe, might have cushioned the blow a bit??
