All fish were cut up and in the freezer for BlueCats! Ok??? Ok!!!! Had a blast after work today , nothing like throwing on some hip waders and missing a lot, and you get your arrow back every shot!!!! Not for everyone, but I sure love the practice and reward 4146-4BC1-95D1-F9497B362D62_zpsjk74q5zo.jpg.html] [/URL]

Nice! I went out this evening but didn't see anything.

I shot some buffalo and carp a couple of days ago. Just took off wading the sabine flood plain in some blue jeans and a good pair of sand boots. Shot some 30 pounders just to be shootin. Need to buy another boat. Sold all my junk, didn't think that river would ever get back up. Saw some small gar didn't shoot them. Water is a little chilly for a gator spawn just yet. Cold on the nuts too. Havent shot fish in three years. thanks rain.
Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

The flood water was so muddy from the local rains that it was hard to see the fish. The best flood water is when the river is already up and the lakes up north are high. When they open the gates it sends good freshwater down stream and makes the flood plain look like an aquarium. When the sun got covered up the other evening by the clouds I couldn't see fish and with the cold water temp I think they just shut it down. They were spawning before that. I got there at 3 and left at 5. I had fish all over me and couldn't see them because of the dirty water. thanks

Thanks, For the most part you've got to get in water that is connected to the ocean somewhere along the way, whether it be a river, stream, creek, or lake. They can be hard to find. I see most of them in the river, flood plain, oxbows, or feeder creeks off the river.

The limit on alligator gar is one per person per day I believe. This is from the TPWD website/fishing regulations.
Alligator Gar
Daily Bag: 1 No Minimum Length
Certain areas may be temporarily closed to alligator gar fishing when optimum spawning conditions occur. Get details. Also see notes on Lawful Archery Equipment.
