Sending my pup to trainer next month and he sent me an email about the food he serves with the dog food link. He feeds VICTOR SELECT HI-PRO PLUS 30/20 blend, http://victordogfood.com He also said I could bring my own food if I would like. It looks good but I don't know a lot about dog food. Any thoughts?

I was thinking I would buy some and slowly start mixing it in with her current food to avoid any digestion issues.

You can do that, or send some food with her and they will do it for you.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Supposed to be pretty good stuff.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

I tried it with about 12 dogs and didn't care for it. About 75% of them had the runs while on it. I switched and almost immediately their stools firmed up. Just my experience.

Have been feeding the Victor grain free for almost 2 years now. Two labs, and no issues. I switched from the Ocean formula to the one with added Glucosomine, and again zero issues.
No bad days hunting

I switched to Loyall. It's not readily available unless you order it through a local feedstore. When I only had 2 dogs to feed, I used Eukanuba Sporting. My all time favorite food.

Mine wouldn't eat it. Three days of not eating was enough so I switched back to 30/20 pro plan. No problems.

Between mine and my guiding partner we have over 30 dogs on Victor. These dogs hunt 4 to 5 days a week the entire season with no issues. If you switch to it and have loose stool cut down on the amount and it should clear up.

Black Gold 26-18 Performance Blend. I have fed most everything out there and my dogs simply perform the best on this food. Just returned from hunting lions in the Navajo Reservation where my best gyp, ran or trailed lions for exactly 40.50 miles in less than a day and a half. Snow was from a foot deep in the flats to drifts over my waist in the mountains. Temperatures ranged from the teens to 40's in the day. While the crusted snow caused their feet to bleed, the dogs never quit and treed two lions on several occasions. Tallest trees were about 12 feet and all juniper so it was easy for my dogs to climb as well. I am planning to go back but go to the opposite side of the mountain where there are a few Ponderosa pines. Adios, Gary
