I live bout 15 min south of the grasslands. i have seen a lot of turkeys in there while deer hunting, but everytime ive turkey hunted in the spring...no luck. I have heard them gobble everytime though. They are there, but you gotta catch em at the right time, and be in the right place. Which gate are you plannin on hunting?

I went last year twice and saw about 10-15, but I saw them while driving or right after I put the gun up in the truck. I'll be back this spring.

I do not know anything about the area actually. I plan to head up that way in a couple weeks and see what I have to do and scout some. Do I just need a Hunting License and Public land permit?

I hunted around Coffee Mill Lake for several years before I started paying for a private lease. That place was awesome.
