Cracker stays in the yard and sleeps in her kennel, so I have no problem with her when I get out my tote and start charging my batteries for tomorrow's hunt. Muffin is a whole different thing. I have to hide from her while getting ready to hunt. She'll know by my routine tomorrow. Do you have to hide your intentions from your gun dogs ?

I don't think you can hide it from them, they know us too well. I bet if we were to video tape our selves , we would see all kinds of things we do that give away our just intentions.
I'll take a Black Female every time.

My 2 dogs get wound up and vocal if I let them out of the kennels if it's still dark in the morning. That's normal hunting travel time I guess

It's a beautiful morning for quail hunting. Muffin got excited when the alarm went off this morning. I only set it when I plan to hunt.

We had a good morning. We found 13 coveys. Pointed 12. Cracker had a pretty hot hand this morning.

Mine know as soon as I start getting ready.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

My dogs live on an acre that's about 50 feet from the back door. If I step out that door with any type of hunting paraphernalia then I don't have to unlatch the gate, they jump right over the top and open the tail gate for me!

I don't know what makes me more proud....when my daughter or my dog beat me to the truck in the morning! Just makes life so much more enjoyable.
I always get my gear together and in my truck the night before the hunt. My dog knows what is going on and I better not make an agreement to hunt with another man's dog.......she knows where the line is.....she won't chew on a $2k gun, but she will sure in heck rip up a $30 shirt to show her dissatisfaction!

When the lights in the kitchen come on before daylight or when the TV starts up early in the morning, my dogs out in the kennel start squalling. Good thing the neighbor is an early riser.

Can't hide it from mine, they just know. Cash didn't want to go hunting last Sunday. My husband didn't feel well and Cash got on the bed and laid at his feet. I called him and he refused to get off the bed. This is a dog that bounces off the walls to go hunting. My husband said he didn't feel that bad, so I leashed up the dog and ran him for some customers. Long story short my husband collapse later that day and has been in herman hospital ICU for a week. Next time the dog does not want to go hunting, I'm staying home
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Dang Kindall thats scary! hope he gets better soon. The words appendices, and aneurism, followed by We need to transfer him to a hospital equipped to better handle his condition scared the hell out of me.
