Im in the process of making a table lamp out of a cedar log and attaching my Euro mount to it. Ive hit a road block with trying to mount the skull to the log. The log is at least 8" thick at the spot that i want to mount it, so a screw from the back side wont work. NEED HELP!!!!!!

That's going to be really cool! My first thought would to use a peg kinda like a screw. Drill hole in cedar and drill whole in back of skull and insert into each hole. This way if you ever need to remove it or to make cleaning easier it would make it simple. My

I'd run a length of thread all from the back. Drill the skull base, run thread all through and place a bolt (and washer if accessible). Counter sink the back side, tighen and fill with wood filler if its not to be placed against the wall. This lamp will be nice, great idea. Good Luck.

Anchor bolts work, do not over tighten because the skull can crack, do not ask how I know this. You might have to hunt around to find one long enough or counter sink the bolt from the base. That will be a great piece once done, going to put that on the to do list.

I did something similar to a cedar log. I mounted the skull to a small board and mounted the board onto the post. It worked great.
