Vortex's 3 lines, the Crossfire, Diamondback and Viper. The Crossfire thread makes me wonder, assuming the Diamondback is better than the Crossfire because it costs more, how much better is it and is it worth the extra money?

Not everybody has $800+ for a scope. I'd love a viper pst, but it's simply not possible. So for now, I'm going to settle for the $200 crossfire II 4-16x50.

I bought a Diamondback HP 4-16 today. Except for the 1" tube & 42mm bell, it looks like it has all the 4-16x44 Viper HS upgrades & 4" eye relief instead of the 3.3" eye releif on the standard DB's ...at lots cheaper than a Viper HS. Ron

Guess I should learn to be more specific. This is for a Micro medallion 7mm/08 that I'll use mostly for stalking/rattling whitetail. I have enough trouble with all those black dots when I stand up too quickly so I don't need em on a scope. This is a sight it in and leave it situation, no tracking needed.

HTex, in my sell off most everything and start over thingy that's where I am right now, I bought a Tikka T3 260 Hunter Grade, to replace a SAKO M85 HG 260, and a Minox ZA5HD 2-10x50 30mm BDC to do exactly what you outlined.
Still hunting or sitting an enclosed box, popup or elevated blind is what this gun is all about. Light, quick handling, little or no recoil and capable of killing anything in Texas at the ranges' I would shoot at, with no Knobs to twist & kinda like the camera's I use in a Point & Shoot application. Vortex has the same size scope in a Viper HS 2-10x44 in a VPlex or a BDC...and worth a look. The Minox's BDC was just a little easier for me to see with these worn out eyes than the Vortex's & I liked the bigger 50mm Objective, plus was about $50 bux cheaper net net....which Always appeals to my Scots/Hebrew nature. JMHO & YMMV Ron

Curious, if there a brand loyalty that requires you to use Vortex?

Bought a Diamondback HP 4-12x40 for my Browning XBolt 7mm-08. Love it. Had a Viper and couldnt tell a difference. Excellent quality.
