Impala-Graceful and handsome animals and from what I have heard do quite well. Most ranches have just a few males at most or very small herds. Thomsons Gazelle-Pretty little critters, tender and tasty on the grill. Springbok-^same as Thomsons Grants Gazelle-Can grow horns upwards of 22 inches if given enough time. They are decently size creatures too. PURE Markhor and Ibex-PURE Markhor and Ibex are gorgeous animals with a wild attitude to them. Hopefully the more there are of them the more the price will hopefully drops. PURE Wild Sheep-That Afghan got me hooked on wanting to hunt the rest of the species in Texas. PURE wild sheep are challenging beautiful game animals and even more wild then whitetail. Spiral horns-Beautiful game animals and for ones like Sitatunga, Nyala, and Kudu there isn't quite enough of them. Also I would LOVE to see an established herd of either Lesser Kudu or Bushbuck in Texas.

I would like to see more wild sheep herds and less/no more Corsican, dalls, black Hawaiian, etc
More herds of pure mouflon, red sheep and urials
I would also like to see less ranches with a huge diversity but low numbers and focus on just a few species but have breeding and self sustaining herds
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

The one post about the Chamois got me wondering about Himalayan Tahr. That could be a good animal if it doesn't get too hot for them. They have really proliferated in New Zealand and are almost considered a nuisance now, so they are very hearty.

But unfortunately some people will always want to shoot those stupid moronic pets....I heard of a place that was offering PYGMY GOAT hunts..... How do you imagine that numbers of Corsicans will decrease?

I don't expect it but just kill the ones that are now and don't breed anymore There will always be wild populations of them around west Texas and western hill country

I think it would be neat to see ranches pick a few species that best fit there properties habitat and create a self sustaining herd. Ex a ranch down in south Texas along the cost could use some lechwe, pere davids, and water buck etc. A ranch out in the Davis mountains could put ibex and markhor etc...... Atleast that is my ultimate dream when I become loaded, just start collecting ranches and stocking them each in an unique way I've always been a fan of blesbok, wildebeest, and red hartebeest. I'd like to see a large ranch in south or west Texas with large herds of these animals.

Those things are dumb enough to kill with a rock Kobus, Recall our discussion..... you just proved my point. While I love looking at Afghan Urials, Mouflons, Red Sheep and Transcaspian Urials ..and at 68 I can actually afford to hunt them (but at $15K I still gotta negotiate the TC with the wife first), a lot of other folks cannot. So that's where the Dalls, Black Hawaiians and Corsicans come in. They provide a nice looking trophy and make exotic ram hunting accessible to more hunters. Also, from what I've been told from folks that breed rams (all types), the wildness of the animal depends a lot on how long it's been in a pasture and how it's treated. I think you need to lighten up.

I would be happy to just get cheaper prices on the African exotics that are here. Such as Kudu, Gemsbok, and Impala. I would not mind having some Impala, but I'm not pay $3000+ for one just for live sale.

Man would I love to see bongo and takin all over the place.
I also would personally like to see large breeding herds of the super rare and endangered animals (takin, white lipped deer, addax, dama gazelle, etc.) as well as large breeding herds of the plains game that are not very common (sable, roan, nile lechwe, sitatunga) and/or requires a 21 day license (Thomson's Gazelle, Grant's Gazelle, Lesser Kudu, Gerenuk).
I know the Corsican sheep have their place, but I hope one day some of the other critters become common enough that shooting them is feasible enough for the working's man budget.
If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today...

I just don't understand why this keeps being brought up over and over...A lot of knocking on animals that most folks can afford and only wanting to preserve animals most folks can't dream of shooting. Kind of like arguing which is better, a Hyundai or a Mercedes. They both serve a purpose.

Like I said earlier there is usually a reason some animal populations will grow and some won't. Some the new habitat is not of their liking. Some the weather. Some what there is to eat. Some the predators. My Ibex for an example. I used to try to raise them LF. After a few years of not raising any kids due to coyotes I gave up and HFed and electrified where I try to raise the kids. Be interesting to see what the percentage of births to live one year on the Ibex in N.M. and the Bighorns in West Tx. For example the Bighorn not only have a problem with Lions but also competition from Aoudad. Axis seem to be the only Exotic that is thriving on its own.

Don't forget nilgai and aoudad that are thriving! Nilgai will do good on southern large acreage places. Not everywhere. Aoudad do good in western semi arid places. Also not everywhere. Also I don't think the majority of places want either Nilgai or Aoudad. They are not that expensive to stock and if they were that popular they would be as thick as Corsicans.
