Debbie cakes, best part is you get to eat a few while baiting the trap.
My brother will bait his traps with McDonald's food. Not kidding, burgers, nuggets, fries, and he dumps a Coke on all of it. He claims it works great...

I experienced this the week of Christmas. We had some lone males coming to one of our feeders. I saw their tracks and had them on the cameras. I decided to do a "baiting." I had heard strawberry jello mixed in with the corn. I did this very thing and added a couple 2 liter bottles of Big Red to the mix also. I also buried this around the place. Sounder found it and tore into that strawberry flavored corn. Coincidence? Don't know just stating the facts.

Reminds me of watching an episode of Pigman where the monologue goes something like this... Dap set up this feeder and we been gettin' hogs coming to it for a while now, but we are gonna try some of this Magic Brand Hog Bait and see if we can get us a hog. There is a black and white spotted one we been seeing on camera that I hope to get. Pigman is then seen spreading the new bait under the feeder. Later a hog shows up and he shoots it. He then proclaims... The Super Killer Broadhead really did a number on this little spotted boar - really shanked'em, kachaa! And Magic Brand Hog Bait really brought'em in... Now wait a minute? You already had hogs coming to the feeder. You had them on camera already, yet proclaim the new bait is what did the trick? More than likely, the hogs were going to show up anyway, regardless of the new bait, LOL.

Now it could be coincidence I don't know but it "seemed" to help.

Honestly we see a steady food source or a wet muddy area typically does the trick. We have tried anything and everything you could imagine but one of those two, if not both, will do the trick.

If you put that crap on your corn you need to always do it, if you add it one time more than likely you will see zero hogs.

if you are asking here how to attract hogs you have no hogs on your property. if you did have hogs keeping them away from your feeder would be the problem.

Did i say CORN!!! Well I'll be. So you think corn would work? Is that the same bags of corn you can get at just about any feed store, many hardware stores, some sporting good stores, and sometimes even at Wal-mart? And pigs will come to that?

i think a few posters have addressed the issues with baiting hogs
corn is king but scent is more important with continuous baiting trumps all
as previously mentioned, if you put something new out , hogs will be weary; i've caught them on cams circling my new bait area and won't touch it until 1-2 months later
bait in an area with trees or cover nearby, they like to sniff first then come out
once you get them coming, continue to bait that area it's easier to keep the current packs happy than to recruit new ones
the sugary attractants do work but only after they're comfortable with an area, meaning , just because you put it out does not mean they'll come running
They will root that sugary soil and create a puddle, continue to sweeten it
a little expensive to use as bait but mushrooms will bring them in as well

I had a real problem with hogs coming to deer feeders which use regular corn.
I picked a spot well away from my feeders near water with a lot of heavy brush around it. I took a motorized post hole digger and drilled a couple of holes about 18" to two feet deep.
I started out mixing commercial attractants such as Hog Wild, Deer Cane, etc. with corn but soon switched to anything sweet I had around camp (Dr. Pepper, Big Red, Kool Aid or any left-over desserts).
I would pour the mixture in the holes to overflowing. What would happen is the hogs would move in and eat the mixture on top of the ground. They would keep coming back nightly to root and dig the mixture that was below the surface for about 10 days to two weeks. Once the holes were rooted out, I would just drill new ones.
Pop up blinds set up 25 yards away for bow hunting and up to 75 yards away for rifle. For light, I used a couple of directional solar powered garden lights set 15 to 20 feet away.
If an area became unproductive, I could move the whole operation in less than 30 minutes.
It really cut down on the hogs raiding my deer feeders if I kept up with it.

We have many pigs, so I put out a wad of bubble gum near the feeder just to see. Something ate it. I wish I could have watched!

I think the secret ingredient in most hog attractants is corn.

Hogs in different areas act differently. The ones where I hunt in atascosa county spook the first time one of them steps on a twig.
Before my grandpa passed away we had cattle on our ranch. He kept a few barrels of 'candy' out there for the cows in the winter to encourage them to eat the dead grass. You can get them at the feed store. It's just a big barrel of surplus candy melted down and packed in these 100 lb barrels. Smelled like pink laffy taffy! Anyway, we stopped using them because the hogs would come out of the woodwork and tear those things up!!
