I am in the process of purchasing my first AR-15. I'm going with the Windham Weaponry SRC .223/5.56.
I'm purchasing flip-up front/rear iron sights, scope & red dot to go on it.
Is it best to install the iron sights first and get those sighted in before installing/sighting in the scope and red dot?

Also, what tactical light would you guys recommend for under/around $100?

Thanks

What do you mean by "scope & red dot to go on it"?

Something like a magnifier in front of the red dot?

I have a scope with magnification for long range shooting and a red dot for close.

Doesn't matter the order. The red dot and flip up sights might be cowitness so that should help getting it close when doing the second one.

I'm pretty sure he is talking about having a long range scope on the gun and then a smaller red dot on an angle mount.

I understand how it all works believe me. However, I'll place bets that he is going to have BUIS in the down position with a long range scope and micro red dot either attached to the scope or to the rail. Again I'm just guessing, but this is his first AR and I see a lot of guys try putting everything under the sun on their first AR. Until they start to carry that thing around they decide to start taking crap off of it LOL.

By the way your magnifier goes behind your red dot not in front of it.

You know my point, are you just trying to be argumentative? I am trying to get the OP to explain himself fully without making a bunch of assumptions, so that we can help him set up his rifle correctly. As you mentioned, we both know how tacti-cool works. Iron sites with a long scope like in your picture is ungood.

Fold down front and rear iron sights as a backup. Scope like longrail shows with red dot mounted to top of scope.
