Has anyone ever converted a root style gate into a drop gate? How did it work out?

Sorry, I will wait for the expert to answer that for you.
Do you mind sharing why considering converting?

They are trap smart and they won't go in the root gate. So I want to turn it into a straight drop gate and leave it wired up for a while.

Has anyone ever converted a root style gate into a drop gate? How did it work out? I have and it worked fine. I'll try and find some pictures of it. I've got that trap loaned out right now.

You can also weld you a pin on the side of the door then hang a Ubolt with a Lhook rod that will set at a 45 angle while holding the pin. When the hogs back hits the gate the Lhook will fall back strait and the door will shut when the pig is all the way through.
