Yes a tikka T3 lite in 7mm08 with trijicon 3-9x40. I was using Federal Fushion 120gr when he came out and gave me just enough time to identify it was him. I readied the rifle and got to a knee in the pop up blind, he must have heard me and span around directly facing me slightly elevated in position from a ridge 60 yards away - it wouldn't have been my first shot option, but I knew it was easily doable as I placed the green triangle reticle just above his sternum. At the shot, he wheelbarrowed slightly and actually ran towards me until he crashed in about 20 yards. The bullet was pleasingly perfectly centered in his chest and there was no exit wound. Upon cleaning him I found the absence of any notable heart muscle, it literally exploded and the thorax was filled with blood clots that poured out like a gallon of jello. Upon more investigation, after destroying the heart, the bullet ran just underneath the spine splitting the abdominal portion of the aorta until it terminated in one of the lumbar vertebra. No gastric organs were damaged much to my relief. It could not have been more of a perfect cardiovascular catastrophe for the deer. I did not weigh the recovered bullet, but it was in excellent mushroomed expansion with some minor core jacket separation; I would estimate 70-80% weight retained. I was impressed with the results from the light federal fusions I switched to after experiencing less than desirable trauma from Barnes Vortx ammo on light skinned game.

They are wonderful rifles. Just got that same one for my wife. Put it in a B&C stock, added a Nikon 4.5-14 Buckmasters BDC SF and a 5 round mag then loaded up some 140 grain Sierra Game Kings for it. Joy to shoot, accurate as heck. Love me some 7mm-08. cheers

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!
