That didn't pull trigger. Buddy wasn't wearing face mask. Think that was issue. We saw 5 groups- several pairs singles- just about all mallards.
Had 1 group cup, and haul A, we had a pair cup while we were standing- good bye.
A lot more birds today than last week-.but sad results.
Birds are extremely wary- if everything isn't perfect- see any face motion not finishing.
I have never had a hunt the last 20 years that we saw decent number of birds, perfect wind- and no harvest.
Had a great time though! LOL

It's that time of the season...they've seen it all and been shot at. Been tough this week for me as well.

Totally opposite down here today. Birds were the most cooperative they have been all season.

Buddy wasn't wearing face mask. Think that was issue. That is why I always have more than one facemask in my bag.

I always carry facepaint in my boat, if someone does not bring a facemask, they have to wear makeup. They usually never forget the facemask again. That stuff is a PITA to remove.

I never wear facepaint or a facemask. My blind is averaging 5.5 ducks per hunter per hunt. Here is a hint don't look at them on top of you and they wont see your face.

I use the face paint. I use wet wipes to get it off. Never had a problem. I haven't ever used a face mask.
I just turned it on . I was looking bird dogs in the butt this morning.

I understand that- no u never look up when circling on top-.tell some of my goofball friends that- actually just one guy- mentioned it- denied that was issue.

I use cheap eye black from wal mart. The cheap stuff comes off super easy with soap and water. The only thing is.. If it's hot and you're sweating it won't stay on.

Obviously it is not that obvious. There are a ton of people on here that think you need facepaint or facemask.

The other day we had 5 guys in well brushed layouts and a few didn't have masks or paint. The wind shifted straight out of the north coming right over our heads just like you want. They were working right in front us just like you'd want. You could definitely tell we were flaring birds. We still shot five limits because there were a ton of ducks but it could have been a lot better. Even if you are still and don't look up when they are circling they can see that white shiny face starring right at them when they are trying to finish.

The point was that you don't need a facemask or face paint to kill ducks and when I don't kill ducks I don't blame it on a facemask or face paint. Good for you for hunting for 39 years. I have hunted for 28.
