kinda weird how so many people who don't care about the horns suddenly care about deer that need to be CULLED...
but that's none of my business...

Buck my son harvested last monday was exactly 13" inches. We are NOT in AR county but man I find it hard to believe this buck just barely would be legal in AR country. Seems a bit excessive to me course I could be wrong.

I would have to guess it isn't legal, but he looks old enough that I would worry that he may ever be.

Thank's everybody, I guess what I was wanting to say is, the AR is good in some place's, look at the other pic I put up, there is another buck just like him and there is one more like him. This is the third year to watch these buck's, and they aint getting any wider, yes they are young, but does anybody think they will get any wider. Not trying to stir the pot, just asking?

Give him another year, let him grow, too young still.........yall realize that's a cull if he's a 6 like he looks to be with short brows? He won't make ar's so not a lot you can do, but that deer will never amount to much, even in 3-4 years. He might turn into a big old 6, which are cool, but still culls. Yup, that buck should be culled and doubt he'll make AR next year.

This one might get out to meet AR in a year or two but sometimes they never do! We have a strain of narrow horned bucks on our place and they will grow a mile high but some never get to the ears. Seems like there should be a culling exception for guys like this
Although I do understand that there is really no other concrete way to regulate this.. They could say 13" wide or 13" from base of the antler to the tip of the highest point. Or 15" or whatever.

not even iffy on 13". ought to change the rule and say on X day those deer are legal for hunters under 16yo make it thanksgiving and christmas weekends only. that would let kids get a real nice first buck and give us a chance to take some tall narrow one out of the pasture.

I've been hollering at TP&W for years to open up youth seasons in AR counties to anything with horns, plus spike/does, just to keep this kind of bloodline in check. So far no help.

I have emailed TPWD every year since AR came into effect...I have never heard a word from them...my 8 year old grand daughter and my son watched a buck close to this a couple weeks back...she wanted to shoot him but no go...has not seen a buck since and we can only kill a doe for the 2 weeks...
