Digital camo so the deer think it's a levitating barrel

BadLander, camo tape it was messing up the pic's when the sunshine hit the pole's. Yep I didn't think so either. Was hoping!!!!

3.5, and he'll make it if you shoot him square in between the eyes.... bolt

Nice deer but not legal. Throw him back, let him grow - he'll turn out great.

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/05/14 03:08 AM

He will not make ar, his body looks a little larger also, because he is puffed up! Must of been another buck around.

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/05/14 03:13 AM

This is a problem with AR, he should be culled!

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/05/14 03:21 AM

ARs protect bucks like that plus their offspring.
They'll never wind up as a family meal and/or wall decoration.
I still don't understand the concept that a set of wide antlers are
"prettier" than a set of narrow tall antlers.
Maybe I'm just too damn un-picky.

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/05/14 03:22 AM

Ron H, like said earlier there two more just like him, and a whole bunch more that I could post pic's of.

Sorry, not even close. May need a couple of more years.

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/05/14 04:29 AM

Ive disagreed with a few of these guys in the past about whether a buck meets AR's, but this time I completely agree, he is quite a bit short of 13".

No he will not.

Too young too

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/05/14 05:51 AM

As he ages is he going to add width?
Posted By: 8pointdrop

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/05/14 10:19 AM

Give him another year, let him grow, too young still.........yall realize that's a cull if he's a 6 like he looks to be with short brows? He won't make ar's so not a lot you can do, but that deer will never amount to much, even in 3-4 years. He might turn into a big old 6, which are cool, but still culls.

not legal this year, maybe next year

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/05/14 04:16 PM

This one might get out to meet AR in a year or two but sometimes they never do! We have a strain of narrow horned bucks on our place and they will grow a mile high but some never get to the ears. Seems like there should be a culling exception for guys like this

Although I do understand that there is really no other concrete way to regulate this..

Let him walk. It's not worth taking the chance

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/06/14 01:04 AM

kinda weird how so many people who don't care about the horns suddenly care about deer that need to be CULLED...

but that's none of my business...

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/06/14 02:40 AM

Buck my son harvested last monday was exactly 13" inches. We are NOT in AR county but man I find it hard to believe this buck just barely would be legal in AR country. Seems a bit excessive to me course I could be wrong.

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/06/14 02:45 AM

I would have to guess it isn't legal, but he looks old enough that I would worry that he may ever be.

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/06/14 03:08 AM

Oh NO NO!!! He won't make AR.

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/06/14 04:21 AM

Thank's everybody, I guess what I was wanting to say is, the AR is good in some place's, look at the other pic I put up, there is another buck just like him and there is one more like him. This is the third year to watch these buck's, and they aint getting any wider, yes they are young, but does anybody think they will get any wider. Not trying to stir the pot, just asking?

Yup, that buck should be culled and doubt he'll make AR next year.

They could say 13" wide or 13" from base of the antler to the tip of the highest point. Or 15" or whatever.

Re: Think he'll make AR? - 12/06/14 01:20 PM

not even iffy on 13".
ought to change the rule and say on X day those deer are legal for hunters under 16yo make it thanksgiving and christmas weekends only. that would let kids get a real nice first buck and give us a chance to take some tall narrow one out of the pasture.

I've been hollering at TP&W for years to open up youth seasons in AR counties to anything with horns, plus spike/does, just to keep this kind of bloodline in check. So far no help.

I have emailed TPWD every year since AR came into effect...I have never heard a word from them...my 8 year old grand daughter and my son watched a buck close to this a couple weeks back...she wanted to shoot him but no go...has not seen a buck since and we can only kill a doe for the 2 weeks...
