Any on here familiar with the Schrade brand knives labeled uncle henry 153 UH in particular. My father just gave me one and he doesnt remember when he got it but it has a serial number on it and from what i read they stoped putting serial numbers on them in the early 80's. Hoping someone is able to disifer the serial number and tell me when it was manufactured.

Does it have the real stag handle or the simulated stuff? Stainless or carbon steel blade?

Have one from the early 80's think 1981 for my knife, with the serial number on it. manufacture was moved to China. The older ones made in the USA have become somewhat of collectors items if in very good condition are bringing around $150.
New Chinese ones are less than $30 new.

I used them a lot in the late 70's they sharpen well, hold an edge, but are somewhat brittle, it's easy to break off the tip.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

It is made in the US and is carbon steal. The handle is not the feux stuff it is the real handle. The serial number it has on it is is 251,000 something.
