I have a Ruger Mark II standard model 4" fixed sights. I've had it for 15 years. It is a well made accurate gun. I just never liked it as much as my Single Six so it has not seen much use.

I like the look and feel of the SR 22 and have thought about trading the Mark II on a Ruger SR 22. The main reason is weight and adjustable sights. I can't just keep the Mark II AND get the SR22.

I know the Mark II is no longer in production and has a well deserved reputation as a fine .22 semi auto but I just like the look, feel and weight of the SR22.

Does anyone own or have experience with both guns? If so tell me which you prefer. Also, tell me if am I crazy to consider such a trade?

I prefer the Mark II over the SR22. The SR22 is just too small IMO. While its reliable, I just prefer all metal handguns to poly wonders. Besides, the aftermarket has way too much to offer on the Mark series over the SR series. Good luck in your decision

It would be like trading a Cadillac for a Cavalier in my opinion.

Guess I'll be the odd girl out. Both are wonderful pistol's, but I prefer the SR-22.

Mark II is a sweet gun, but if you aren't shooting it what good is it doing you? Wat about getting a used SR to try, and then selling the one you don't want?

Several years ago, I made a vow to never trade away another gun and have only broken it once. LOL.

While the Mark II is not my favorite, it has grown on me and I have shot it more in the last two years than ever before. I know I could never get another one (at least not for what I paid for that one)if I changed my mind.

I will probably keep the Mark II because they don't make them any more and that alone is a pretty good reason to keep it.

I have a 6" mark ii that I have also had for about 15 years, first gun. Earlier this year I killed an armadillo and a skunk within about 5 seconds of each other at around 3 yards or less of me. Glad the skunk was only able to raise his tail and not spray. I prefer my mark ii with leather holster but have never used the sr22 soo...I may have a slight bias haha

I'd keep the Mark II, especially if you have regretted trading guns away before
