So I have seen a couple of these threads in the past (never with much luck) but I figured I would try anyway.

I just moved to Mansfield, and I am getting a lab in November. I am looking for a small field or pasture where I can train a dog. I am not looking for somewhere to shoot or work with birds, just somewhere I can throw a bumper after work and on the weekend. Doesn't have to be a big property, just an acre or more to train/exercise. The neighborhood I moved into doesn't have much open space.

Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Mansfield has a dog park but that might not help much.

Thanks for the tip on Cowtown HRC, looks like a great club.
I really need a place close to home to train after work though.

Buffs - find the fields you are interested in using. Load that pup up and start knocking on doors. I had more success than failure when asking people for access to their property. Especially with a cute puppy in hand.

There's a park over off of Broad street called McClendon Park West. There's a little used ball field way in the back of the park that should fit our needs nicely. Or, if you're out towards HWY 360 you could go to Loyd Park but there's a day use fee there.

I run my rabbit hounds at Lake Benbrook at coe land. There is tons of it. You can easily work your dogs there. I know it maybe a little far from Mansfield but on weekends it would be a great place to work your dog. Not many people there.
