I personally will not do a load work up on an unbedded, factory rifle with a bi-pod. The bi-pod causes the stock to flex and put stress on the mating of the stock and action. The bi-pod can easily throw your shots off and open up your groups. Just something to think about!

Truth! During a week long shooting class I was using a factory savage accustock. It hated a bipod, but loved the bag. It was replaced with a HS-Precisin stock and now all is well, but now I like bags more

Get behind a 7 Rem Mag or a 300 Win Mag and you'll be wishing you had your bipod back.Especially on the deck or bench. There is angle iron at the end so you can load the bipod. Front bags make you feel more of the recoil because you can't load.

I told Judd and Chad the trigger control (or lack of) was driving me nuts! Heck I saw some guys with daylight between their finger and the trigger. I wasnt even looking down range most of the time. I'd see a trigger get slaped and think "theres a miss", sure enough Judd wouldnt call impact. Chad and I talked about this about 3/4 of the way through the match. And both of us had the same thoughts on the matter. Let em shoot, critique later.

I've seen PRS shooters break their cheek weld to cycle a rifle. They want to watch the cartridge go into the chamber. Why? You'll feel if it picked up a cartridge or not. Let the machine do its job. If it didnt pick up a cartridge then deal with it. Until then MAINTAIN CHEEK WELD!!! grin

I had mentioned something similar during the match. The few guys not using bi-pods, including the guy with the 300WM, were at a disadvantage on the Farris Wheel stage where you need to maintain cheek weld, cycle the bolt, keep the rifle on target, and get that next shot off quickly. Not being able to load the rifle/bipod, every one of them had to re-adjust for their next shot and weren't able to get back on target quick enough to get that next shot off and keep the momentum going on the target.

Learned a few lessons from this match:
1) trying to add a bipod in the middle of a match, never having had used one before was not a good idea.
2) having to get back on target was not easy under some of the time constraints firing a 300WM
3) not sure how I fared with trigger control but did find myself coming off my gun more often than not to either cycle a round or load

I love free advice! being self taught, information such as this is invaluable. Thanks

Now, if you don't mind I would like to address the only let down I had during the entire day from you and your spotting, which was a severe lack of enthusiasm. We needed a lot more out of you. Might want to take notes from Judd sometime to help yourself come out of your shell a little bit

His monotone lull you to sleep?

Wasn't like an announcer at the World Series huh?

Oh no chad let's just say he gets "animated" when he sees beautiful trace haha.

He'll probably go viral when the video comes out.

Chad is better than any announer at any WS....Jason said it "Best RO in the history of RO's". It's the animation and excitement, it just adds to the fun.

Though I'm not so sure that replacing "IMPACT" with "WHOSE YOURE DADDY?!?!" would go over so well in an official shoot scenario

You forgot to scream "gun" like a mad man. Or "nice recovery" after a hit. He was definitely the best RO to listen to.
