No moon this weekend... Might just be the weekend that they decide to step out and have a late morning snack.

Gotta stay positive man, confidence in where/how you are hunting makes all the difference IMO. Game cams dont catch everything.

Wish everyone the best of luck!

If possible have someone drive you in and drop you off... seen a big difference in how deer react when a vehicle spooks them vs someone walking in the dark.

Someone was wondering if puttting a ground blind up to late would spook the deer, well I don't thing that is the case. I put my ground blind up on 13 Sept. I went out on 20 Sept to check my setup and the one side was collapsed. After closer inspection I found deer hair all over the velcro opening of the shooting window, and some shrubs I had placed there for concealment were all tore up. I'll get a pic this weekend, found this pretty funny though. Sat can't come soon enough!

If you can get to your stand as quietly as you can and with the wind in your face then take a bright flashlight with you as you walk to your stand. I have done this and the deer do not know what you are by seeing the light. If they can't smell you and your not making any noise, they will come back. I've done this before and it has worked. Had scared off 3 big bucks one time and they came right back in at first light. Also had several times where a single big buck would come right back. Without the light, they will know you are a person and will vacate the area.

Got a nice fat three point (not a small buck) been coming in daily like clockwork with his buddy a basket eight. Both look to be the same age deer.
That three point already has a target painted on it's side. food

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I hear you! Hunted Camp Bullis for many years. Finally gave up on it about eight years ago. Had some good times, but the training got to be just too much! Hope you get to get out there and do well!
