Pretty slow now rut is over. Kid took a 2.5 year old 7 last weekend..... We have only shot one good buck this late ever out there. I got him after Christmas back in 2014 going after a younger buck. Not eating corn. Does come to corn now that they aren't being chased. Wheat is key late season it seems out there. November was good to us. Good luck.

I have two good bucks showing up on my camera, but haven't been able to connect. First decent bucks I've seen all year.

We pulled cards and filled feeders today. Nothing coming out during daylight, so we went to Doc’s for a beer. This is getting really frustrating!!!!

Killed lots of bucks from nov5th - nov13th You won't catch me anywhere else between those dates After about the 20th it just drops off
Going back over game pics I saved and what we shot, this was the peak. 9th to the 11th. At least at the stand I hunted. I have a deep creek and smaller one they can pen the doe against.

Havent been in 2 weeks. My target buck was shot by someone else and since then, buck activity has been almost non existent. Going in the morning, will take a doe if a good one shows up.

I haven't even started thinking about it and won't for awhile. At this time, Grandson and buddies are targeting hogs. But, unlike last year, I have dang few acorns so should see a lot more action at feeders.

Last year was pretty slow for me, just didn’t see a lot activity. Fortunately I was able to take a doe and buck. This was also the season on this lease. Land owner was able to get me on piece of property near Capps Corner. So far camera is showing a lot promise / one or two possible shooters. Anyways I meant to post this buck last season but time just got away. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2020/08/full-40625-245655-55bf7dc6_e29e_4c30_98c3_66dd49d00ec1.jpeg)

Great buck Las Colinas, we must be really close to one another. Which direction from Capps do you hunt?

About 1 1/2 miles due East. Also missed and operative word in my last post. This will be the first year near Capps Corner? Last year I was hunting just north of Nocona Hills. Was there for nearly 5 yrs. hoping a little further east will bring some bigger boys.
Where are you at?

Just South of Bowie; way too many hogs to even think about slinging corn.

Went out last wknd sent up my stand, filled the feeder and put new batts in the game cam. Excited to see whats coming in. I was chasing a huge 6 last year that I never got a chance at. Curious to see what he is this year.

Dang it, just got on the new lease this January and didn't even make it to the hunting season before I've lost the lease. Fortunately and will see if it holds, the current owner is writing in or requesting with the new owner to let me finish out the season.
I hope I can stay on through this season because I've put in a lot of work - blind, feeder, pens, move of travel trailer and equipment. Silver lining is the land owner is lining me up on potentially two new spots, one for next year with possibility of getting on this year and a new piece of property he's buying now. Probably wouldn't close until close to opening gun season.
So the question for this group, should I jump off this land and try to set up one of the others the land owner has if they come available this year. Ughhh.

For this season, just pack up and move on. Do not waste any more money on this place. If the previous owner has a good new property then follow him and start fresh from the ground up on the new place and build on a long term relationship with.

Checking the pics daily, all of the sudden last week the big bucks stopped showing up. Are the bachelor groups already starting to break up? I still have a few younger bucks showing up together? Very odd.

Grandsons are coming today. First job is work on tractor. Then drive Tposts around pond and install electric fence tape to deter cormorants. They have hit my bigger pond pretty hard in the past. Then, if time permits fill feeders, etc.
Still haven’t had time to cut firewood but I did take time to do a little fishing yesterday
