I built me a pig pipe and left it up at the lease but I haven't had a chance to put it out there yet. Any tips from you pro's??

Drill the holes just large enough for a single kernal to drop. Anything larger and the corn will drop too fast and the tube will be empty in no time, usually that night.
We also put a few rocks in the tube larger than the holes so when the pipe is empty, there is still rattles inside making the pigs think there is more corn in there.

Keep it away from brush so the cable/chain doesn't get tangled up..

Make sure you use quality, virtually unbreakable snaps or hardware. The hogs will twist the chain around whatever it's attached to, and will continue to push after the chain is completely wrapped causing a lot of strain on the snaps.
At least four times we have had to go looking for tubes because the hogs wrapped the chain so tight the snaps broke. They will push that pipe until it's empty.

Started my first pipe today. Anyone know what size drill bit off the top of their heads?
Shot my first turkey today...Scared the crap out of everyone in the frozen food section, it was awesome!

I have been using 5/8" but may go to 9/16" next time. It takes maybe 4-5 hrs for em to empty mine with 3 5/8" holes in em. I have seen some people recommend 1/2" but it seems like it is too hard to get corn out of it then, but I could be wrong.

Use a cable and no chain or snaps. Loop the cable and use a cable clamp. Rum cable all the way through the pipe. clamp the other end also!!! Put loop over tpost.

I thought I used good hardware that swiveled and moved. One pipe was found 100 yards from original location and the other hasn't been recovered

I found that attaching it on the capped off end and not the fill end works better because the fill end that has the part that unscrews will break easier because of the little square that sticks up, hope that made sense. Also I drive a sucker rod in about two feet and leave about two feet above ground and rather than a chain to it I use a big stainless ring over the post. So far they haven't got it up over the post yet. Then I put a swivel to it, then the chain, then swivel in middle of chain then swivel from chain to eye bolt on other end. This has worked best for me and I've had several broken and rolled off so Ive been working on this.

I put 5/8" holes in mine and the coons made them into 1 1/2" slots. I put a hose clamp around pipe over the slots and seems to have slowed the rate down well..

If you can't get out to check the pipe as often as you want then instead of just filling the pipe, fill water or coke bottles and drop them down in the pipe as you fill it. It will make the corn trickle out only after serious thrashing about. Lasts even longer if you drill 1/2" holes in the bottle caps. I have been thinking I might make some inserts out of 1.5" or 2" schedule 10 PVC tubes with a single 1/2" hole. Should be a bit faster to fill than the bottles and take a good long while to shake all the corn out.
On new pipes I put a little sweet feed in a coke bottle if they are not finding it fast enough or hitting it regularly enough.
On the night of a hunt I put the tube aimed directly at my stand so I am most likely to get a broadside shot.
