My grandfather passed a few years ago. My grandmother has given me a few of his things. She just gave me his .22. It's a Remington Fieldmaster Model 572. It has grooves on the top of the receiver. What's a good scope for this rifle?

I'm proud to have anything of his. He was a very good man. The rifle has no real monetary value, but it has a lot of sentimental value to me.

Got this online, it's not a picture of my rifle.

A lot of folks say that Remington 572s and 552s do not keep zero well with scopes because the barrel isn't fixed to the receiver. However, my dad and my brothers never had an accuracy issue utilizing a scope. I love the irons on mine, so I don't use a scope. Very accurate rifle.

Yours looks amazing.

Regardless of so called "value", it's a nice rifle in it's own right. The family association makes it even better.

My dad has the exact same 22. We always shot it open sights. It's a great little pump 22. I wouldn't put a scope on that, but that's just me.

I've never used a scope. Guess I don't need to start now.

You are a blessed and lucky Duck. Beautiful.

I got my granddads Ted Williams (SEARS) Winchester 190 22 semi auto.
I replaced the springs in it, washed out the FCG and shoots like a dream with the original Weaver 4x RF scope.
