Well, I was told by the wife to go out hunting on Monday for my bday, wasnt going to do it since the weather was supposed to be bad, Sure am glad I did.

earlier this year I was out hunting and shot at a sow and thought I missed, that was the day I hit a hog on my way home with my truck. Turns out I did actually hit her in the elbow, you can see in the pic how she is holding her right leg up, saw her on the pics for quite a while.

So, I went out on Monday, walked in and got within about 100 yrds of the feeder, looked over the hill and did not see anything, figured with the south wind I wouldnt anyways since my scent would be blowing into the woods by that feeder. I stopped and backed up thinking I heard something but was wrong, then when I turned around the hogs came out to the feeder, talk about timing. I got to my knee and see the hog I had shot before under the feeder with 4 others, took a shot at her and she dropped , 3 others ran straight into the woods, but 1 little boar ran the opposite way and actually circled back towards me, he got within 10 ft of me and cut to the woods, I took a quick point and shoot and actually got him in the head.

So in 15 min of hunting I got to go get the 4wheeler and haul them back to the truck. I did find the bullet hole in her right elbow as well when I cleaned her. Felt the satisfaction of getting revenge since if I would of killed her the first time I wouldnt of left when I did and probably wouldnt of hit that big boar with my truck. All in all it was a good bday present to myself.

I have an older savage 30-06, that seems to be what I always use. I went for a head shot the first time but she picked up her head as I shot so I guess it got her leg the first time.
