Need info on viridian X5L laser light combo

Does anyone have any dealings with the viridian X5L. Father in law just gave it to me and not sure if I like it. I have not uses it yet. Opinions??? Experiences????

I like the lazer itself a lot. Green is much more visible in a brighter situation. The strobe is a good feature. As far as the controls and size I'm not so thrilled. If you wanted to holster it it'll take a custom ($$$). The cost and availability of the CR2 batteries doesn't thrill me either.
My dislikes above could have a bearing on why it was given to you. For free it is a good deal but I would not buy one as I think their are better instruments out there now. Even Viridian has changed the design. Practice with the controls. It is quality and was state of the art a few years ago.

Thanks for good info!! I have not even found enough enthusiasm yet to buy batteries for it.
