Fixing to order a barrel for a 16" 300 blk upper. Had my mind made up to just get a sota stainless barrel as I have one of their complete uppers and it shoots pretty good. But looking around was wondering if maybe I should spend a little more. Don't think it makes sense to spend a fortune on a top of the line barrel for a rifle that probably won't be shot much past 250 yds.

Narrowed it down to 3. I like the Odin moa guarantee. I like the fact that I already have a Sota. I like Wilson's rep. Guess I can't go wrong with any of these, just looking for input.

Sota Stainless. $164.99 plus shipping

Wilson Combat Recon. $249 plus shipping

Odin 16" stainless with low profile gasblock and free shipping. $269.95

I guess it depends on what you plan on doing with it...make sure you get the right twist rate to stabilize the heavy 220gr subs.

I have a cheaper barrel on my build as I only use my 300BO with subs so anything over 100yds isn't really an issue for me.

The SOTA Arms barrel will shot MOP (minute of pig) all day long.
The 300BO barrels I had from them were good shooters that were easily MOA with good ammo.
I did play with some 208gr VMax subs and it shot decent groups at 100.
But I wasn't planning on shooting subs and so I moved on to 6.8x43.
If you only plan to shoot subs, you will want to go with a faster twist.

Unless you are competing in matches, shooting paper, or buying for bragging rights, etc. don't sweat it.

I'm happy with my Sota, shoots about MOA and has knocked down a few pigs plus a couple deer. Think I'm going to go with the Odin barrel. Probably unnecessary for the ranges I plan on shooting, but what the heck. I like the moa guarantee.

6.8 is a good one, just not looking to branch out to another caliber.

I thought you already had a 300 so 6.8 would be an alternative - you can only shoot one at a time and it doesn't take much barrel to reach full potential of the BO.

My oldest decided she likes shooting the 300, that's the reason for upper #2. I've already got brass, dies, etc for it. Figure it makes sense to have a couple rifles in the same caliber. I like the Sota upper, just going to build an improved version this time around....
