Just bought a plain Jane 870 and going to dress her up for a home defense/tactical weapon

Got new furnature on the way. But am looking at a 2 shot extension to bring the mag tube out to the end of the barrel

Seeing a lot of good and bad reviews on the same ones so what have you guys used and liked or what to avoid?

I'd like to know about firsthand experience on this subject also. Lots of conflicting reviews out there, and I'm left to believe none of the options are worth pursuing.

I have had Choate and Nordic. Both have been fine.

Note that on a newer 870 you will need to remove the "bump" in the feed tube prior to installing the tube extension. There are you tube videos on how to do this. Just be aware of this before you install the extension.

OK now the quest to find one. Looking at the +2 Remington factory bolt on part, but no one seems to have it but Brownells, and they want $25 more than anyone else.

Cheaper than Dirt in FTW is no more. (I hate them, but they are not Ft Worth Gun) They don't have it anyways.

Looks like the one made by Remington is made out of gold.

Not many places have it in stock, and the ones that do want about %20-$40 more for them.

i've got the Adventurers Outpost version, which i think is made by Wilson Combat or TacStar now. Not sure who actually owns the company anymore. They are solid steel, and have held up very well under all the abuse i've done to them. My duty shotgun has one that i've used for over 20 years now, all i've had to do was replace the mag spring a time or two.

As far as the dimples, there are a few companies making a tool to "raise" the dimple. That will be easier and look much better than grinding the dimple out.

In God we trust, all others get run through TCIC.
