Hello All,

My son has entered a hog hunting contest and part of the rules for the hunt is the kill must be videoed as well as the weighing. I have been on line looking at the various camcorders out there and to be honest it is a bit overwhelming! Anyone have any suggestions? It must have a microphone which I do not know why that is important to film a kill shot but that is what they require. Anyway I do not mind spending a little money but I sure in the world do not want to spend an arm and a leg. I noticed that Best Buy has a Samsung F90BN HD Flash Memory Camcorder on sale for $149.00 which seems to have decent reviews. I hate to sound stupid but I know absolutely nothing about camcorders. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Really impressed with my Sony. Mine is not the HD model, but it is available. Mine has a Zeiss lens, and well, that's beyond reproach.

Sony and Canon make really nice digital camcorders. My brother uses Canon camcorders for his hunting show. I had a lower end Canon camcorder, and it was really nice. I bought a high end Sony DSLR camera, and it takes HD video really well. I gave my canon camcorder to my mom because I didn't need a camcorder and my DSLR.

If u want a gun mount or be able to carry hands free. Get a go pro. I've never looked back after getting mine. It has great picture quality. Easy to use. And it's small and lightweight. Easily mounted on a helmet, chest, or gun mount.

At least anything worthy of mentioning.

I have looked at the Go Pro but that's a little out of my price range. However how do they do in a low light situation?

I've learned if u can see then it prolly can. I can put it on the dash at night and record. If I see an animal or anything in the ditch I usually catch it on camera.

I use Gopros and a Nikon DSLR for all of my videos.

The Gopros are great for vehicle comentary to and from the hunt, in the blind, on the chest and now they have several weapon mounted systems.
