They all seem to do about the same thing and are within reason of the same price so if you have one and like it or don't let me hear it.

I have the Moultrie for 2 years now & it's been 100%. I did learn to keep it in a plastic baggie when traveling as the plastic screen scratches easy. I like the functions on it, and can delete the photos & re-use the sd card back into the camera.

I should explain this is for my elder friend who still has a flip phone with no text and struggles with just changing the cards. He changes them out brings em to me and we look at em and I clear the cards but he's retiring soon and will be 100 miles away so he's really concerned about how he can clear these cards and look at em. I think if I show him how to use the reader he will be good.

Maybe get really large cards so that they last a long time?

I just have extra cards and swap them out. So far as readers go - there are tablets now that are just as cheap as the card readers (even cheaper) and LOTS cheaper than an iPad. Tablets give you much bigger screen than readers or cameras, etc.
If you are going with a display device other than a laptop or full computer, I would strongly suggest making the move to micro-SD with an adapter.

I use my digital camera, but it has a small screen, not too good for older eyes, but you can zoom also

I also switch cards and or use my digital camera but again this is for my land owner I need to know who has a card reader that he can plug the card in, see what ate his corn, delete, and replace. He has no laptop he has no computer he just wants to look at the pics and delete them.

I think you answered your own question in the original post - they all do about the same - not expensive and many to choose from but they all basically read the card and show on your computer
You can't fix stupid

I have a moultrie reader but use my iPad with an SS reader in the jack.
Much faster and easier to delete bad photos

He recommends a digital camera. However, I have tried two different brands on 3 different game cameras and non will read the game cam pics. I can even use the same sd card and take pictures, but can't read from the game cams? Anyone else have this problem?
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

I have a Moultrie, not great, but better than taking my laptop to the woods. Its simple but has a small screen for my "old" eyes.

We just take a extra as stated above and I have a old laptop I just leave in the RV to view or the wifey poo scans from her camera..I may have a extra scanner that's pretty simple to use for the Gentleman Amigo..I if I can find it I will drop off at your Brothers next weekend to the Lease..its pretty old school and simple and may help the Gentleman out..

He has no laptop he has no computer he just wants to look at the pics and delete them. Then the Moultrie reader is what he needs. It has it's pro's and con's, but unless you have a computer and extra cards for every camera, he can view them right at the camera. He can also copy every picture onto another card and not have to view every pic right there. Just bring it to you and let you do it!!! Or he can keep the pics he wants, then delete the card and put back in camera. It will also zoom in but if the animal is not centered in the frame, won't do any good since you can't scan from side to side. It takes 4 AAA batteries, but buy at least the 16 pack. If you have a lot of pics to go thru, it will eat those batteries up pretty quick. Screen is easy to scratch/scuff up. Keep it protected.
