I saw it had more than in used to when I was buying it several years back. But it was way more clean than the Academy brand.

Ok so you got a grudge, got it. Not at all, creative conclusion though. I just don't see why people love them so much.

HEB is awesome
I can buy meat, wine, beer, a flat screen tv, a duck commander shirt, propane, apples, books, a copy of the TTHA journal, a deer feeder and corn to put in it, cigars, shampoo and those Little ferro Roche chocolates.
Try doing that at super s or brookshire bros.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

ok, here is a picture when I was unplugging it one of them many times, I would get some fine white powder and a bunch of this red residue. The inside of the empty bags are full of this red stuff

also, I have noticed since I ran my fed times up to 10 seconds it hasn't clogged since. I was feeding shorter times and maybe that was partially the reason the funnel clogged is that the corn wasn't moving enough to keep the funnel from clogging

Maybe the white powder is the apple scent that is on it. I put another 15 bags out today and really looked through it this time. All looked nice and clean and smelled good enough to eat myself. Ha. It all was fine. My HEB in Marble Falls turns it over in a hurry They sell a ton of it

The few times I've bought corn from HEB it's been fine. Although, as stated above, I've always had my problems with stockers in the way of paying customers and it seems to be getting worse. I don't think anybody stocks at night anymore.

Mummies corn has always been the cleanest corn I've bought over the years. That said, corn won't last in a bag or feeder for long periods of time.
I know HEB won't store the corn, but I've seen the one near my house have a pallet or two set out under the covered entrance where blowing rain easily could reach the uncovered bags, and those bags might look water tight but that are far from it. I'm thinking those bags got wet and dried out a few times, and I'd also check your feeder to make sure moisture can't get in.

I'm hoping that turning the duration up to 10 seconds helps to keep it clear by moving more corn through each feeding.. so far it seems to have made the difference Anyway, I won't be afraid to buy Mumme's corn again reading your replies about the quality. I guess I got a bad batch or as some of you have said it wasn't stored correctly.

ok, here is a picture when I was unplugging it one of them many times, I would get some fine white powder and a bunch of this red residue. The inside of the empty bags are full of this red stuff That is what they called "bees wings" it is on all corn. It is what is between the kernel of corn and the cob. If your lid is air tight that can cause problems. Corn is stored with moisture in it, all corn has moisture in it. If your feeder is not emptying in about 6-8 weeks and you keep it full before it does then the corn in the bottom and start to get old. If it gets brown bugs or weevils in it then they will turn it to powder(corn meal). They will make more moisture when doing this. That moisture could then collect under the lid in the form of condensation on very hot days with cooler nights. That can rain down on the corn and cause a mess inside over time. A funnel will help with this but venting the lid so the feeder can breath is a better choice.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

I've used mummes apple corn for years. Normally buy it from lampassas heb and the last batch I bought clogged all 5 of my feeders. It formed what appeared to be compresses rotten corn rocks. They were brown in color and were just big enough to clog the funnel. It did it in every feeder I put it in. Haven't had any problems since I drained and replaced. I'm sure it was improper storing as they keep there pallets outside and it had rained a bunch days prior. As far as the cleanest and nicest corn I've found I'd have to say that producers pride whole corn sold at tractor supply takes that title. Much larger kernels and super clean.
