I wouldn't see why not. It is important for a shotgun to fit you because they are generally shouldered quickly and shot instinctively. As long as you fix your rifle sights on a target and press the trigger (i.e.; do your part to ensure an accurate shot) then it should work fine. I have a marlin 1894 .357 carbine. It is a 16"bbl, short stocked rifle and I can shoot it just fine and I'm basically your size.

I am 6'2" and weigh about 200 pounds and shoot my sons Rem 700 .243 win with a youth stock on occasion, but it is not what I would prefer. You can make it work as I can make accurate hits with the rifle, just not as comfortable as my full size rifles. If possible, I would see how it feels when you are holding it in a shooting position.

There's one easy way to find out.
Stick it up to your shoulder and see how it fits. How else would you know?

I'm 6'4 270 and I shoot my wife's youth model 7mm 08 all the time!! If you feel it fits you scoop it up, don't get into what size reference it is!!

I have Browning Micro Medallion .243 that I bought for a future grand kid and have taken numerous hogs and deer with it. It is without question, the most convenient and comfortable center fire rifle I own. Very light and equally deadly.

It's a handy outfit, and the low-recoiling round will keep you from getting "scoped".

A youth stock is 2" shorter than an adult stock. If the rifle is scoped you may have trouble getting a good sight picture. I purchased an NEF 243 youth, and added 2" to the stock. All is well.

I have a Rem. Mod.7 in 7mm-08 that my wife uses, but I use it as well. Easy one to maneuver around with.

I've shot my wife's Mod70 Youth (.308) a few times. Only did it ONCE without a slip on pad though. Thought my eye brow was never gonna heal.

What is the difference in the length of pull? I like a shorter lop than my actual arm length suggests. A slip on pad will give you an extra inch. Bringing the center of gravity back makes the gun handier, up to a point. Obviously you want enough eye relief from the scope.

As a matter of fact, I did just that today. Put in a new Timney trigger in his 243 Savage Axis and we went to the range to make sure it was still sighted in. I shot it just fine. I am 6'1'', 200 lbs.
The new trigger is awesome btw!
