Does anybody know if you can read SD cards from game cams effectively on a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active smartphone ?

I was told by my AT&T rep that it would. I have an IPhone and that is one thing I don't like about the Apple producs, Ipad and Iphone, is that you can't view SD cards from my game cams on the Apple devices.

I'm up for an "upgrade" and that would be a possible reason I might upgrade from an Iphone to the Samsumg Galaxy smartphone.

Any thoughts or feedback ???

you would need an adapter for full size HD cards which are hard to find.

Have you used a card reader w/ the Samsung device ? I really don't have any major motivation to go from my IPhone to the Samsung smartphone, but would consider it if I could use the Samsung smartphone as an SD card reader.

I haven't, I had a Samsung tablet that I would like to be able to do this with hence my looking around..

You can buy SD to micro SD adapter cards that will allow you to use micro sds in a standard SD slot.
Then use a tablet or phone to read the micro sd

My brother has an adatper for his IPAD but you have to import them, can't just view on the card.

ccoker, I got the SD card adapter for my Ipad and it didn't work very well at all as a viewer. I may take one of my full-size SD cards up to my AT&T store and try it out on the Samsung smartphone to see if it actually works before considereing switching from my IPhone to the Samsung smartphone.

the cards on the Samsung phones are MicroSD, both my son and wife have them.

Buy the 40$ card reader for iPad it works great. I can also view on my droid phone with a adapter for it.

You csn buy the miniSD cards with adaptor at Wal-Mart for about $15-$20

C3 guide, I bought an adapter to view my SD cards for an IPad (my sons) about a year ago and it didn't work very well at all as a viewer. It required for ALL of the pics to be downloaded onto his Ipad to be viewed and you had to manually delete them all and it wasn't user friendly.

Is there something newer that works better with the iPads ?? I have a newer iPad but I assume they would work similarly.

I would much rather have a user friendly way to view my game cam pics in my iPad because of the larger screen.

The $29 SD Apple card reader does great for my mini ipad. It imports them, I just have to figure out a way to remove the "album" or last imports. Works great other wise

You can get an SD card reader that plugs into your micro usb port on Amazon for $5 (chew on that you iPuke fans).

It acts like an external drive but you can copy/cut/paste at will where ever you want.

It works on my grandson's Galaxy S4 and my Note 2. Both for 1/2 the price of one Apple thingy.
