I'd like to get a shoulder mount done on a blackbuck that I recently shot, and was wondering which Austin/Johnson City area taxidermist to go with. If anyone can share good or bad experiences on the quality of work they've had with various taxidermists in the area, I'd appreciate it before deciding who to go with.

Martinez brothers (in Austin) has been around forever. They took a bit longer than expected but my beaver skull came out great, no complaints really.

He has done my work since 1984, One of the best. You will probably have a year waiting time or more but if he tells you 13 months, then it will be ready in 13 months

Cole Stevens at Hunter's Creek does good work, too, he's got a wide array of examples at his place for people to check out (WT, mules, elk, exotics).

Big Rack Taxidermy is about 5 miles west of the Y at Oak Hill...going towards dripping springs....Ive never used the taxidermy services, BUT theyre processing side, The Buck Stops Here, has never let me down! Their chop steak recipe is dynomite!
