A few times this season while duck hunting my super x2 has went click when I pulled the trigger. There seems to be no mark on the primer. The gun has been taken apart down to the trigger asimbly and cleaned. Anyone have similar experience or thoughts about what could be the problem? This has only happened 3 or 4 times in 100 rounds.

Is the action failing to close the last little bit on its own?

Im not sure. I think it has done it after cycling a shell so I did not pay attention.I will be cacareful to look on the next hunt. Thanks

My first assumption is the bolt isn't closing the last 1/8". You said you have taken it down to the triggerr asseassembly. Have you also taken the stock off and cleaned the recoil spring and tube? If the gun is a few years old or been shot a lot the spring may be weak, replace if necessary. Lastly it could just be an ammo issue.

Could be that one piece of crud that you missed in the bolt. I have seen sand do that with other guys shotguns while goose hunting. also if it does it again as mentioned check to see if the bolt is fully closed before you eject the round.

My SX2 will light strike on Remington ammo, as long as I don't shot the remmy ammo it runs fine.

Bowfisher might be the winner. This is the first year I've shot remington. But there not cheap loads. I've never taken the stock off to see or clean recoil spring tube. I'll look into this. I normally only get 5 to 6 tries at ducks per trip. Not enough to give up a extra shot. Although it did make things interesting on a group of four last Saturday I take aim only to here click. manually eject the round take aim again and drop one.
