His horns say no no no...but his cape says yes yes yes.....if he is free range low fence I would pop him.

His horns say no no no...but his cape says yes yes yes.....if he is free range low fence I would pop him. Had three show up this summer, but never could get a good look at them. Didn't see them for a while then they showed back up and this guy had turned black. So now I have one female, a young male and this guy. It's free range low fence and I'm pretty sure they travel to the neighboring property. I could have shot him yesterday but I'm not sure I want to.

We've decided to let him walk and hope he survives. I wouldn't feel right shooting him yet.

He could use a few more years to get bigger. In India, all the mature black bucks turn black during the breeding season and they have a small territory. In Texas, it seems only the dominant one turns black. But that's just my observation so don't quote me on that.
What part of Texas is that?
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.
