Dont know about y'all, but with all of this rain we've had and the lakes, creeks, rivers rising, I've seen the most snakes ever this season so far in the blinds. Keep your eyes open, came real close last weekend to a city slickers reenactment.

Dog almost got hit by one that was about as big around as my arm last weekend. Luckily I saw it and grabbed her by the vest right before she stuck her nose down. Way to close. Not taking her to that hole till it's colder

Mine will hide behind me if he sees a snake, and backed up barking in the blind when one wanted to join us.
That's courtesy of Wayne.

Was cutting brush for a blind last weekend and l just happened to look down and saw a 4 foot rattler less than 2 feet from me. Jumped back as quick as I could, then realized my dog was on the other side of him. Thankfully I was able to get Gunner back without noticing the snake. Got him with the machete. 7 rattles

Hopefully some of the cold weather this weekend gets them holed up. Got bit when I was a kid at school of all places. Not a fun experience at all.

I was west of Tyler Saturday checking out a swampy area. I stopped near the edge of the water for a minute, turned around and saw two big mouths of cotton looking up at me from about a foot. They each got a 3" #2 steel load and I got some new drawers.

Not going walking again til it gets colder....that's why I have a boat!

I use oars to row out- small water and easier than messing with a motor. In any event I left the oars in the water and a moccasin came right up the oar and into the boat. Well I stood up right quick and used the other oar to lift/toss him out and thankfully it worked.
