They say no news is good news, but my gut tells me that no news is exactly what it is, no news which equals no deer. My inclination is that the deer wasn't hit that well and probably got pushed out of the area. Coyotes probably had a nice meal.

How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

I feel your pain, I lost a 10 point opening day after a 8 hour search with a blood trail that ended at about 50 yards. Its a sickening feeling.
