Days before wt season opens & now I can't get this axis buck off my mind. Picture is from a game cam last week that was put up nowhere near a feeder right at the entry of the place...go figure.
Was ready to hunt our stands & now might have to change my plan. Axis at out place don't hit feeders much. What to do, what to do....

Forget WT hunting. I'd keep quiet and hunt that monster

I'd be focusing on that big fella. Never know, might get a good WT in the process.

Just an axis. You can hunt them year round. I would only shoot him if he came in and ruined a hunt.

Ya I'm thinking I will have to throw up the popup blind up front when I get there tomorrow. There have been some pretty nice axis bucks killed on the place over the past four years & three nice ones this year. I haven't got one yet this season & had basically decided to just focus on the wt's (until seeing that gamecam pick). Our axis bucks are MUCH better that the wt bucks on the place & we have to hunt them a little differently because they don't have a set pattern. It makes it a challenge which can be fun but they can also drive you insane trying to figure out where to set up.

That dude has some browtines on him!!! I'd be all over hunting that Axis buck. I think the meat tastes better and the mounts look great on the wall.
