water proof? you tested it if so?
Look for ones with "Chip-a-tex", they will also say waterproof on the side under the chippewa logo. I didn't see any of these when I was at the Justin store, but it's different every time I go there depending on current production (they're all imperfects)
That's what I have, I haven't gone wading through knee deep water but they do keep you dry when the buffle grass has dew on it.

Do not get the Academy Snake Defender IIs. I bought them in a hurry, and my feet regret it.
I'll tough it out this season with them, but they will be getting replaced.

I have a pair of the chippewa's with the chip-a-tex that makes them waterproof. I have walked through mud/water up to nearly the top of the boot and my feet stay dry. As long as I don't let water come in from the top they are good. Only draw back to those is the liner makes an already hot boot hotter. I wear them all through dove season and sweat and then wear them into the "cold" parts of the year and enjoy the added warmth sitting on the stand. Paid $100 for them at the cabela's bargain basement 5 years ago.

Rocky lace ups. About 10 years old and still going strong. Most comfortable boy I have ever owned. I think they were $90.

Bought 16" height Game Winners from Academy about 4 years ago on sale for $89.00. Wear them often, zip ups and they are very comfortable.

The Bass Pro 16" Red Heads for 89.00 lasted 7 years, the last year the sole started breaking apart so I added duck tape to get me through one more season, they were warm and comfy! I just purchased Justin 18" snake boots from the outlet for 119.00, have only worm them one weekend at the ranch and they were comfy from the start

I have had the Justin zip ups for about 3 years now and they are very comfortable. I think I paid around 130.00 for them.
I want it to party in my mouth.

Had a pair of chippewas for about 3 years and wear them year round. Paid about $170 I think. I would say that they are water resistant not water proof.

Got a pair of Cabelas store brand in lace up. Comfy and fairly waterproof. Have not tested them for effectiveness against snake bites (thankfully). Also have a pair of Irish Setter side zips. Not as comfy but seem to be heavier duty. Bought both pairs on sale for somewhere around $100 each.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

Yep, I paid $100 for mine at Academy about 2 yrs ago & wear them all the time. They're pretty comfy once broke in and keep your feet dry so I bought a pair for my 15 & 13 yr old's too. All of my life I've never worn snake boots as I always pay attention to where I'm stepping, but after I nearly stepped on a rattle snake chasing pigs one night I decided to stop pressing my luck. If I get bit above the boot then I guess it is what it is....
