I'm feeding plain old Purina Dog Chow, and Cracker is doing just fine with it. Firm stools and steady weight is all I'm ever concerned about.

I feed eukenuba. Why change from purina? I was considering switching to pro plan because of price compared to my current feed

Having skin issues. The wife wants to go with a more organic feed. Feeding 8 dogs can get costly!

Euk just came out with some new formulation I think it's a natural base deal. Buying direct will save you money and they deliver it which is nice too.

Walmart recently started selling a brand called Pure Balance. It's made by Ol' Roy, but its list of ingredients don't look terrible. My lab seems to enjoy it and its $30 for 40lbs.
Chicken, Chicken Meal , Brown Rice, Brewers Rice, Pea Protein, Poultry Fat (preserved with Mixed Tocopherols, a source of vitamin E), Dried Beet Pulp, Rice Bran, Dicalcium Phosphate, Natural Flavor, Dried Egg Product, Dried Carrots, Oatmeal, Flaxseed, Salt, Calcium Carbonate, Dried Peas, Dried Cranberry, Potassium Chloride, Zinc Proteinate, Choline Chloride, Iron Proteinate, Vitamin E Supplement, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (source of Vitamin C), Copper Proteinate, Biotin, Manganese Proteinate, L-Carnitine, Niacin, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex (source of Vitamin K activity), D-Calcium Pantothenate, Sodium Selenite, Vitamin A Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Calcium Iodate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (source of vitamin B6), Folic Acid
I also buy extreme dog fuel on occasion.

Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice. We feed it to 8 dogs, have been real pleased. We fed Purina One Lamb & Rice before this & you can tell the difference. Much better food & less expensive.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

No whining allowed...we feed 15. All sizes...toy poodle, Brits, Chessie, hybrid cross (anatolian/pyrennes), and a great dane. About 2,900# per year. We do it because we love the critters. They give us their unconditional love, and I feel for the person that tries to come into our house without us welcoming them in. The hybrid and the dane are all business with strangers until we usher them in.

I have fed all of the feed that you guys have mentioned and all are good. But I have the best luck feeding Black Gold 24-22 when hunting these hounds. On a mature dog, I don't feel the high protein is as important as the energy. I feed two cups per day in the summer and three in the winter. Slick haircoats, dogs don't overheat, very little waste and lower priced. Adios, Gary

I started feeding the 4Health Salmon/Potato about a year ago after the Diamond Naturals was leaving the labs skin dry and coat rough. Since I switched to the Salmon with higher levels of Omega3 and 6 Ive noticed they are a little more active, much better stools, and an amazing skin and hair coat. http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/4healthtrade%3B-salmon--potato-formula-for-adult-dogs-35-lb-bag

Started mine on Blue Buffalo, puppy chicken & brown rice. Then he had some allergy issues, so we had to rule out the food and switched to Blue Buffalo Grain Free.
But he started to not eat the grain free so we switched him to the Diamond puppy - but since May he's been on Diamond Naturals Chicken and he seems to like it.
Never did figure out what he's allergic too, just give him 3 benadryls every night and that seems to work.

I've got my pup on Blue Buffalo and I'll swtich between chicken/fish/lamb each month. I have had the best results with this food brand. Also this Blue Buffalo keeps my pups teeth soooooo clean. Everyone tells me she's got such great teeth. She always has a good appatite and her stool is fine. I hunt with her every week so I needed something to be able to fit the bill and BB did just that.
My college BIO teacher/ vetranarian/ exotic animal keeper always talked very well of Science-diet

As much as I like Eukanuba it's gone up 30% this year alone. I'm switching to Pro Plan. The rep hooked me up with a distributor and it's 10 cents less per pound.
Good bye Eukanuba...

Many years ago Dad always said, "Purina spends more on research than other dog food companies are worth."
It may still hold true today.
Uprisings started or quelled, tornadoes rerouted, elections rigged.

Used to feed Blue Buffalo, now feeding Victor grain free. Have one lab that has an allergy and needs the grain free so I feed it to both labs. No issues, they eat it up and it's reasonably priced. Have been on it for about 9-10 months now.
No bad days hunting
