Have to choose between a Colt Gold Cup Trophy with the stainless steel finish or the STI Spartan with the parkerized finish. Which one and why?

Both are brand new, and the price difference is not much.

Yes it is a series 80. And it is apparently a 2011 model because it has some special medallion in the grips about 100 year anniversary

A Texas made STI (as opposed to the foreign made) over the Colt any day.

The Spartan series from STI has a made in Philippines frame and slide with STI internals. It is basically a custom Rock Island and not to be confused with some of the finer STI offerings.

The Colt is.... a Colt.

This is pretty much a no-brainer.

I'm sorry I'm an idiot, I meant the STI Trojan!!

If it was between the spartan or the Colt it would be a no brainier ha ha.

I'd go STI, not much of a stainless gun kinda person, plus I've been able to tour the factory and meet the GM. Heck of a nice guy, and their inventory is awesome. Yes, a Colt is a Colt, but the STI Trojan is a fine firearm built by a great company in Texas

No the one made by Armscor is the Spartan, which I accidentally posted in the original post. This is the Trojan, which is what I meant to post.

Is the Trojan ribbed?
