Been thinking about buying a mossberg 835 with adjustable stock. Have never owned a shot gun with adjustable stock. What are the pros and cons of them Or should I just save the money and buy a regular stock?

Depends on how well a regular stock fits.
I really do not have a reason for an adjustable stock for myself but then in golf clubs I have been fitted several times at different shops and always the measurements are for regular length shafts, regular loft and lie.

I have never felt the need for an adjustable stock but that doesn't mean they are bad... Basically your pros are that it is adjustable and your cons are that it probably isn't going to be as tight of a fit, because it has moving parts some of those parts have to loose.

If you have kids, you can adjust the stock a little shorter than you would use and it would be more comfortable for them.
I don't always exaggerate, I just remember BIG!

If it is the AR type collapsible buttstock the biggest drawback is cheek weld and recoil with the tube as opposed to fixed stock with more surface area.

I would be concerned that heavy loads might be rough on your cheek, neck, etc.
