The man is probably on here but oh well. I leased some land for dove season about 2mo ago. I took the guys out to show them how to get there and just check things out. The place i leased always has lots of birds with just scattered patches of sunflowers. The place is surrounded by sunflower fields in all directions.
One of the guys that is on one side of the place informed us that his hunters want to wait to hunt until they can have a full weekend and that since he has so much money involved and a large operation we shouldnt hunt until they do so that we dont disturb "any of my birds coming to my field". We will be hunting.

Hahaha! That guy is out of luck, I'm sure. He's lost his mind.

You ought to do what he says. You know his hunters are much more important than yours. (Major sarcasm) WOW. Unreal what some people think and have the nerve to say.

or
You could let him sublet you for one weekend for what you paid for the entire lease. haha

If it was me, I'd hunt that sucker. The land may be his, but the birds belong to the State of Texas. If he was smart, he'd realize you guys will be helping by keeping the birds moving anyway.

The older I get, the more I hate coming in contact with neighbors. They always want something. 3 out of 4 neighbors around our place are well-to-do "ego farmers"; car dealer, surgeon, and a guy that was "successful" in the healthcare industry - he "retired" as the SEC began investigating. When they need something, it's a huevos-to-the-wall emergency. When you need something, all you hear is crickets.

The only appropriate response is hysterical laughter, slowly turning and walking away. Do not stop the laughter part until he's gone.

You know, I missed opening weekend of deer season last year. I never though to ask the neighbors to wait a week. I wonder how that would have gone? loco

I have a 4 day weekend to hunt 3 days out of. Maybe he should tell "his" birds not to fly during the first week of the season so no one shoots them. Or at least mark them so other hunters will know they are his.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

After you limit out opening day sounds like a good time to shoot some skeet to get practice in.
