Just got my favorite bow re-strung (and I must say it looks pimped out). I have most of my feeders going. I still need to hang a couple of stands and check shooting lanes and straps on my ones still hung in the trees. I always tell myself I am going to get those stands hung before the really hot weather comes in, but I never do.

My wife goes out with me sometimes to hang stands because she wants to make sure I don't die up in the trees from heat exhaustion.

One more big thing - plant the fall food plots right after labor day. So far we have had decent summer rains so the ground is moist for this time of year.

I am really getting excited.

How often do yall like to have your feeders running before opening day? I usually like to let them run 8 weeks or so. This year being that I am not going to be able to get back out to the lease I will only have 4 weeks of feeding before opening day.

I try to get all of mine up by the end of July. Anytime through August should be fine. The main thing is I want to get them up and going early enough so that I don't have to get anywhere around them to fill - I want my next trip in to be the time I am climbing up the tree to hunt.

Got my broadheads hitting with my field points. I had to drop my nock significantly, but I'm now more confident than ever in my setup and am wanting to put it to the test on an axis or hog soon. Now I just need to adjust my sights (field points and broadheads are hitting high).

I just bought a new Mission Ballistic, man it is like the cat's meow to me considering what I was shooting reminded you of a slingshot. I have been shoot'n quite a bit in the back yard but what I don't understand is that I can use one pin which is my 20 yrd pin and it carries all the way to 40 and I don't have to compensate. I am sure my strings will stretch through time I suppose. I been feeding my deer since May and just topped off last month. I'll go opening weekend bird season to add more corn a leave alone.

shoot about 60 arrows over the course of the week, mainly at 30 and 40 yards. Will increase it even more once the temps start to fall a bit (basically early september)

Start to practice shooting at the weekend. Other days, will do some muscle exercises. But, my mainly task for now is to build some simple stands that I setup more spots in the fields.

Meh, too hot in my part of the world to get real excited about opening weekend of bow season. I'll focus on college football and dove blasting until November.
