After months and an agreement to prevent an injunction, a Garland Gun Range won't make a deadline to make all safety improvements.

We had a local whose BIL was an atty who went after our local club and costs the owner many thousands of dollars even though his accusations were totally unfounded..It's a shame we live in
this type world..where someone with cash can legally put a legal
business out of business and be justified doing so..Texas was a
different place not so long ago..and I do not see us improving..

Does anyone know if they are shut down? They should be able to operate the shotgun and pistol ranges...I would hope.

Last week the day after the news story on channel 5 they were busy like is was October.

Was told last night the case was in court this week. Range is sill oen and Caliber restriction lifted so back to business as normal. Or at least vhat is the word I got last night

I just called and Mike confirmed that the caliber restriction has been lifted. This is great news.

I was there a few weeks ago, and that story is from last year so it seems to be all good. It is nice to see them doing some improvements but I really don't feel bad for them because through all the years, at least the last ten that I have been shooting there, I have never seen any improvements what so ever done until this happened. In order to keep a place like that up you have to improve it year after year but that was not happening..

the caliber restrictions have been lifted, back to business as normal. After another round in court this past week the restrictions have been lifted and the range is not being closed down, at least from the most recent attempt by the anti gun politicians.

The only caliber restriction now listed on their website is:

Looks like they had to raise their prices from $10 to $15. Glad to see they made it through this.

Same happened at ours. The owner was buried in legal fees and had to give up.

Had a GREAT day ay the Garland Range today. Lots of shooters.They are making great strides in cleaning it up. There was one poor guy, obviously a new shooter trying to sight in a new POS AR-15 with a POS scope mounted in some wild "Cheaper Than Dirt" set up. He was shooting WAY HIGH, through the wood baffel or whatever you call it. The range officer was quick to stop him and offer to help. .30 cal is now legal too. They will check your .223 ammo to make sure no FMJ/TMJ ammo. No problems.

Was there a couple of weeks ago.

Went there right after they allowed 30 cal again. The pistol range was stacked several deep but the rifle range was still nice and quiet.
