Sounds like what CDNN did back during the first ammo scare. Each of our local
WalMarts ended up with a pallet of .223, but before it could be stocked, Crawford found out about it and made a backroom deal to buy both pallets. He doubled the price and sold it all on his website, leaving us locals high and dry, unless we wanted to pay to have it shipped, even if you lived less than 1/4 mi. away (I did).

Well I just traded 300rds of fmj 45acp for a rock river lpk and a remington 525 bulk pack. So I can take my daughter shooting finally.

More ammo at academy tomorrow ... I am so tempted to be there at 3am with yellow caution tape... lol

This really falls on the shoulders of Academy for "enabling" them to do this over and over. All they have to do is randomly release ammo throughout the day as mentioned above. That is what Cabelas has started doing. That way it discourages this camping out for ammo by morons like this. I give Academy kudos for not gouging prices but they are REALLY dropping the ball by letting this continue...

Was in the Sherman Academy store earlier this week and heard a customer teasingly ask the Gun Counter clerk how long it took to sell out of 22lr's that morning... the clerk said they put it all out at 8:30 and by 8:45 it was all gone. So NOT ALL Academy's are doing the random stocking thing....and does not surprise me about the way the Sherman store is run.

The Sherman store is 20 minutes from the best Striper lake in the United States and does not stock ANY Striper Tackle or lures...and has given all the bidnizz to WalMart who can't keep up with the demand.

Even 9x18mm is sold out on a lot of online stores.
It makes me wonder how many people are discovering the difference between Parabellum,Kurtz, and Markarov and why that bargain eastern bloc 9mm Largo won't cycle... a little too late.

I went back to Academy last Friday for some 9mm luger and it was the same non-sense again. Same people in line camped out with lawn chairs and Tyler Academy still putting all popular ammo out at 8:00AM. So no corporate policy change yet. Brought the wife this time and was able to get two 555 bricks of 22lr, one for me and one for her but no 9mm. We got there about 7:30 and probably the 20-25th person in line. They had a few boxes Armscor 9mm but ran out by the time we got to the counter.
